We connect Jewish young adults to each other, to Jewish organizations and initiatives, and to meaningful Jewish experiences in the East Bay.

We envision a future where every Jewish 20- and 30-something finds a meaningful connection to Jewish life.
How We Gather
Gather has seen that Jews in their 20s and 30s are finding meaning and connection not solely through institutions or programming (although those are great!)… but through genuine relationships steeped in care, connection, and wrestling with their Jewish identities.
In addition to connecting people to each other and existing Jewish life, we create experiences that have relationships at their center. These experiences meet a distinct need in the community and are often more intimate (better for connecting!).
- We form genuine, personal relationships with 20- and 30-somethings and introduce them to each other and to the offerings of the wider Jewish community.
- We meet people where they are, physically and spiritually, no matter what stage of life they’re in.
- We keep our finger on the pulse of the community and connect you to the initiatives in Jewish life aligned with your values, interests, and goals.
- We lead intimate, thought-provoking Jewish experiences that inspire a relevant, active, and meaningful connection to Judaism.
- We are a digital hub for local events and other resources to make it that much easier to find your place in the Jewish Bay Area.
- We support the local Jewish ecosystem by convening Jewish professionals and emphasizing collaboration, community, and service.
Who Is GatherBay For?
We deeply value the diversity of insight, perspective, and experience brought by people from backgrounds typically underrepresented in Jewish life. This includes Black, Latinx/Latine, and Asian people, Black Jews, Jews of Color, Sephardi and Mizrachi Jews, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, gender non-conforming people, and people with disabilities, and all people of diverse religious, spiritual, and cultural backgrounds.
We welcome Jews of all abilities, sexual orientations, racial/ethnic identities, gender identities and expressions, financial means, and levels of religiosity to reach out to us, have coffee, and join us in whatever way feels right as GatherBay evolves.
Our Impact
From our sibling org, GatherDC, on the east coast to our national Trainings work, to our on-the-ground work here in the Bay Area, we’ve been making waves across Jewish communal life for years.
