Caroline is the Community Director of GatherBay and loves bringing people together, whether that’s around the Shabbat dinner table or as part of a zine-making workshop.

Previously, she worked at UpStart, Jewish Vocational Service in San Francisco, Net Impact, and has consulted for numerous Jewish and secular organizations. She’s also the co-founder of Ashreinu, an egalitarian kehilla (community) in St. Louis, where she took a lot of people to coffee to learn about their Jewish journeys.

Originally from Maryland, Caroline grew up in an interfaith (Catholic-Jewish) home, moved to San Francisco in 2012, and now lives in Berkeley. Outside of work, you can find her hiking among the redwoods and reading multiple books at a time.

Lena Sibony is the Community Coordinator of GatherBay. She loves bringing people together and is so excited to support young adults across the East Bay engage with their community while learning more about themselves and their Jewish identities. Born and raised in Berkeley, Lena graduated from UCLA in 2021 with a degree in art history and religion and moved back home soon after. You can often find her taking photos of  flowers while on a walk, shopping at Ulta for the latest fun eyeliner color or onstage in various plays and musicals throughout the Bay Area.

Rabbi Gray Myrseth is the Community Rabbi at GatherBay. Originally from San Francisco, Gray was ordained at the Hebrew College Rabbinical School of Newton, MA, and served for six years as Rabbi Educator at Kehilla Community Synagogue in Oakland. Gray has worked as a rabbi, chaplain, and educator with people of all ages, within Jewish institutions and beyond. When not at work, Gray can be found making ceramic Judaica, writing and reading poetry, expounding on the wonders of Talmud study, and enthusiastically exchanging podcast recommendations.
